Fantastic opportunity for a graduate with 6-12 months b2b marketing experience.  Leading media publishing and events business is seeking a marketing assistant to develop in 3 key areas of marketing, lead generation, analysis and reporting and content marketing.

The marketing assistant will play an integral part in the marketing team, responsible for planning, co-ordinating and executing marketing plans to ensure products reach the right people at the right time.  You will report to the Head of Sector and have the opportunity to get involved in content marketing as well as building important and lasting media partnerships for the business.

On day one you’ll be given a range of projects, a budget, and an objective. There are many opportunities for a creative individual who is looking for a challenge. The role is also the perfect opportunity to get a solid grounding in the fundamentals of b2b marketing.

The role also has a progression plan in place – should you be stronger in one particular area (or areas), you can choose to specialise after your first year or move in a new direction within the team.

The successful candidate will need excellent time and project management skills, strong communication and negotiation qualities and above all, an enthusiasm to co-ordinate the ‘nuts and bolts of marketing’.

We are looking for people who are really going to contribute and add value and not paint by numbers. The key character traits skills we are seeking are:

  1. Confident personality [and a thick skin] so they can influence people both internally / externally to get things done
  2. Proven and relevant marketing experience, e.g. copy writing (this is key!)
  3. Hustle for deals and be resourceful in order to generate more from their existing channels
  4. To be innovative / creative / inquisitive to push forward new initiatives…and not fear failure
  5. An analytical mind so they can assess marketing campaigns and identify next steps if things aren’t going to plan
  6. A healthy dose of the sales persona about them, understanding how an event makes money
  7. An understanding that marketing within this business is about delivering money to the bottom line
